Stained Glass Valentine for my Readers

Yes it's been a while.  Yes, I have good stuff for you.  More later.

But NOW, check out this Stained Glass Valentine; isn't it GORGEOUS??

Now you may be wondering how on earth I made that and I am here to tell you it was EASY PEASY!  I used the beautiful Designer Cuts cards in the Occasions Mini Catalog and adhered a square of Vellum Cardstock to the INSIDE of the card, behind the cut outs.  Using markers, I colored ON the vellum OVER the openings, allowing the colors to show through the vellum and the openings on the front of the card.  When I was done, I just adhered a panel of Very Vanilla over the inside of the front of the card, hiding the "magic".  A little ribbon and - VOILA! - gorgeous card in under 10 minutes! 

The thing that is so wonderful about these Designer Cuts cards is that because the heart is filled with flower cut-outs, this can be used for so many more occasions than just Valentine's Day.  Think of this as a Mother's Day card!  Or a wedding card, done in the bride's colors.  And the other design in the package of eight cards is a lovely border that would be just as beautiful with this treatment.   And with the included Blushing Bride envelopes, these cards can be truly special.

My Top Five Favorite Things About Sale-A-Bration 2012

OK, be honest, how many times did you check out the new Sale-A-Bration Mini Catalog?  Doesn't it just call out to you?  "Freeeeeee - everything in me is freeeeeee!"

There are a lot of things about this Mini that I love but there are five things that really stand out for me.  Here they are, in no particular order:

1. The new format. I love the new size and shape and layout of the mini catalog itself.  I love that the fonts are clearer and have more "punch" and that the photos are so crisp on the new paper stock used in the catalog.  It feels more "special" somehow, more befitting of what a terrific promotion Sale-A-Bration is every year.

It's Here, It's Here! The New Occasions Mini is LIVE!

Loaded with gorgeous new stuff and some brand new products, the 2012 Occasions Mini Catalog is LIVE today!  There are so many fabulous new things in here I just don't know where to start but I will try to contain myself and show you just the "highlights" (though everything is delish!).

First, you can see the new mini by clicking right here - pace yourself - it's that good!

First, on pages 6 and 7 you will see the brand new Framelits and Edgelits.  Folks, these will change how you craft!  The Framelits and Edgelits are all in exclusive Stampin' Up! designs, both coordinate with stamp sets and the Edgelits coordinate with their own gorgeous Embossing Folders! Also here you will see the amazing new Large Sizzlet Paper Doily; because this is a Sizzlet and not a full size die the degree of detail you can create with this is astounding!  You can even trim out pieces of the doily and create your own customized designs.  HEAVEN!

On page 12 you will find the most luxurious and elegant 3/8" Pleated Satin Ribbon.  I was a little skeptical because when I have purchased pleated trims from other companies, they tend to be either unevenly stitched or so "smooshed" that the effect of the pleating is lost before it can be used.  Well, HELLO!!  This is Stampin' Up! and the ribbon is to die for!  It is so gorgeous that - no lie - you could use it as garment trim.  In four colors that coordinate with the adorable Twitterpated DSP (Designer Series Paper), the new Twitterpated Designer Buttons and the Twitterpated Designer Fabric, you will probably want - no, NEED - all of them!

On pages 32 and 33 you will find the most adorable and endlessly useful Sweet Shop product suite which includes Designer Stickers of all sorts of sweet treats and perfectly coordinated Sweet Shop DSP.  Turn the page and you will find Jelly Bean Brads, colorful epoxy brads, In Color Baker's Twine and - are you ready? - SCENTED clear embossing powder in Vanilla, Melon and Cherry.  I have the vanilla and it smells GOOD - not that icky, fake, dollar store vanilla candle scent but slightly sweetened vanilla fresh from the baker's pantry.

Bad News - Good News!

Ok, let's just get the "bad news" out of the way so we can get to three pieces of GOOD news!  Today is the last day you can order from the fabulous Holiday Mini Catalog.  If there is anything you have had your eye on and you decide you just can't live without it, I will be placing my last Holiday Mini Catalog order tonight at 9:00 pm.  For those of you who have ordered things through these "last orders" know that sometimes there are surprises in your orders.............

Now the GOOD news!  YAY!  Stampin' Up! released the Holiday Mini Catalog Carryover list so we can rest assured that some of our favorites will be available through at least July.  Take a look

I am so happy that the Peekaboo Frames was carried over - I have so many cute things to show you with that coming up in the next few weeks!

Good News item #2 - when one mini ends, that means another begins!  Tomorrow the Occasions Mini will go live and if you haven't seen it yet, oh lordy, make sure you are sitting down when you look at it!  I am not allowed to show you anything from it yet, but I CAN tell you that it is PACKED with things we have all been asking for!  I am BEYOND excited with the possibilities and I know you will be, too.    I have TONS of classes and events planned around the products in this mini so watch for that information to be out by the end of this week.  You will want to get signed up early because classes have been selling out and you won't want to miss one fun thing!

Good News item #3 - only 21 more days until Sale-A-Bration!  Why am I already getting excited about "SAB", as it is called?  Because this year's Sale-A-Bration lineup is like nothing you've seen before.  Again, I am not allowed to "cheat" and show you anything - yet - but there is such a rich mix of SAB exclusive items and regular catalog merchandise that you just won't run out of things you want to get - oh, did I forget to mention - FOR FREE????  Yes, that's right - as usual, everything in the Sale-A-Bration Mini is absolutely FREE with every $50 in merchandise you order.  And yes, it's still just $50 to get something for FREE.  There was a lot of buzz in the demo world that people were worried that Stampin' Up! would follow the practices of so many other rewards promotions and raise the qualifying order amount.  We should have all had faith!
